Nail Polish Haul

So I like nail polish okay.
These are few polishes that I picked up from bloom.com awhile ago. They are disconituing their online store they deeply discounted the products that they still had available. I was able to pick up Essie Go Overboard, OPI Vampsterdam, OPI I Eat Mainely Lobster, and OPI Road House Blues. I like all of these polishes so far. I was a little concerned that the polishes would be seperating and gross but they arrived in perfect condition so I was super happy.
Ulta is having a nail polish clearance currently. These two polishes were not on clearance of course but as soon as I saw them I had to have them. One is Live and Let Die from the OPI Skyfall Collection. It has like a dark greenish/black base with green/gold shimmer. The second polish is the definition of impulse buy. I saw it and grabbed it because I have nothing like it. Plus, it's what I think of when I think of spring nail polishes. I think this is from the OPI Brights Collection and its called Significant Other Color. The color is a shimmery pink/lilac with green duochrome elements to it.
I grabbed a couple polishes from Sephora when they had their 20% off a sale items. I got two Sephora by OPI glitter top coats and an Illamasqua duo. The two glitter polishes are Hollywould if I Could and The Golden Age. Hollywould If I could has a clear base with bar glitter that goes red/orange to blue/green. The Golden Age is a chunky gold glitter polish. The Illamasqua duo includes Viridian (which I wore here) and Glitterati (which I can't wait to wear.)
Also at Ulta I grabbed this OPI Drip Dry drying drops and top coat duo. I've already tried this once and I am not in love. I'm going to try it a couple different ways to see if it works.
Swatches on nail sticks of the colors (all 2 coats and Seche Vite top coat): I Mainely Eat Lobster, Vamsterdam, Go Overboard, Road House Blues, Hollywould If I Could, The Golden Age, Glitterati, and Viridian.

Wednesday Wishlist #1

Wishlist #1: Check out my set on Beautysets - a social beauty magazine where you can create your own beauty & style collages.

So I'm on a bit of a no buy until my birthday (March 23 if you're wondering). These are some things that I want to pick up especially the Nars set. It has all of the single shadows that I would buy all in one set plus a primer and a brush. Sold. I've been wanting to try out a new face mask and I love Origins Skincare products so the charcoal mask makes sense. Finally, my favorite lip balm is Jack Black its hydrating and smells good and isn't over the top glossy. If I'm putting on a lip balm, I don't want it to be glossy or I would have just put on a gloss.

What are you wishing for?

New Release: OPI Euro Centrale Collection

stock image from google
So OPI has another European themed collection coming out February 6 at beauty suppliers and retailers. This is their spring and summer collection. Some nail bloggers have already got their hands on them and have swatches up. Kelly at Vampy Varnish has the whole collection swatched. There are a few colors that I am totally lemming after.

Color Descriptions (directly from the press release):
My Vampire is Buff
Creamy, pale and nude…just how I like my vampires.
I Saw…U Saw…We Saw…Warsaw
Be seen in this deep midnight blue.
Vant to Bite My Neck?
You know you want to…wear this deep eggplant.
A Woman’s Prague-ative
I’m changing this shimmery copper for…never mind!
OY–Another Polish Joke!
So this shimmery-gold walks into a bar…
Hands Off My Kielbasa!
Get your own…this bronzy tan is all mine!
My Paprika is Hotter than Yours!
Get the extinguisher…this fiery red is sizzling!
Can’t Find My Czechbook
I hope you take credit, because I must have this aqua!
You’re Such a BudaPest
If I let you borrow this periwinkle-purple, will you go away?
Suzi’s Hungary AGAIN!
Thank goodness there are zero calories in this warm and yummy pink!
OPI…Eurso Euro
This deep blue cream is very continental.
Polka.com
Blue and violet are dancing partners in this glittery combo.

Have I ever told you how much I love cheeky marketing? I love the names and the descriptions. I'm easy to please. Personally, I am looking at the creme pastels. To me, nothing says spring and summer like some light colored nails.  You're Such a Budapest, Can't Find My Czechbook and Suzi's Hungary Again are at the top of my list. I'm teetering on whether I want Polka.com or My Vampire is Buff (this might be really bad mannequin hands.)

Are there any polishes you have to have from this collection?

Mani Monday: Illamasqua Viridian

What it says: Hardwearing and chip-resistant, apply 2 coats for intensity and use with Illamasqua Base coat and Nail Top Coat for the Perfect Finish.

On my nails I used Orly top2bottom for the base and top coats and only one coat of polish. This was pretty opaque and like most people if it looks good enough I will stop at 1 coat. I will review the Orly top2bottom seprately.

I had this polish on my nails for 4 or 5 days before I changed it. It was chipped a little at the edges but I would consider that normal. In my everyday life I am a bit hard on my nails. These photos were taken right before I changed my polish so it shows the wear.

January 2013 Favorites

Don't forget to enter my 100 follower giveaway!

Alright so it is time to do a monthly favorite post. I'm going to try to consistently post these on either the first Friday of the month(like today) or the last Friday of a month. Just so that there is some sort of pattern to it and so I won't forget about it. lol.

I didn't have a huge amount of favorites this month. I really kept everything super simple. I tried a couple of new things but most of the items are tried and true.
Eyes:
Lorac Pro Palette - mainly just the matte shades cream, taupe and mauve. Don't get me wrong I like the whole palette but those shades have been getting the most use.
Maybelline One by One Volume Express Mascara - This is one of my favorite mascaras ever. Its not too wet, it separates my lashes with minimal clumping and its not impossible to remove like some mascaras are.
Tarte Skinny Smoulderyes Eyeliner in black - I just got this for Christmas from my best friend and I am loving this so far. It stays on the waterline, doesn't tug during application and it is black.
Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner in onyx - This is one of my all time favorites. I've had this for quite awhile and there is so much still left. I love the built in sharpener.
Face:
Real Techniques Brushes (powder and setting) - Sorry these are dirty; it's a sign that I use them everyday! I use the setting brush to set my concealer. I have never come across a brush so perfect for setting undereye concealer. The powder brush is good for distributing color all over the face.  It works well with powder foundation or bronzer.
Benefit Hello Flawless powder in Hazelnut - I use this to set my concealer everyday. Some days I will wear this all over the face but it just depends. I have a significant dip in this product which makes me happy. I don't even know the last time I hit pan on a product.
The Body Shop Lip Scuff  - This is the business. I have a nasty habit of biting my lips which leads to them pealing and looking super gross. This is perfect for pealing of the top layer of skin that's already pealing. I prefer this to something like the Lush Lip scrubs because its in stick form so I feel like its more sanitary.
Revlon Photoready Concealer in Deep - This is Holy Grail status and I don't say that about many things. I've had this for about a year maybe a little less and this is the only concealer I like enough to use everyday. Its almost gone which is sad but I'm happy that I found a concealer that I like that's not outrageously expensive.
Mark Get a Tint Tinted Moisturizer in Almond/Mocha- I don't use this everyday but on days when I need a little more coverage this is what I go to. Most of the time I don't like to look overly made up and I have yet to find a foundation that really matches my skin tone enough. Until then I will probably stick to this.
Anastasia Clear Brow Gel - I love this stuff. It keeps my brows in place without being sticky or flaky at all during the day. Perfection.
Last but not least - The Fame Fragrance by Lady Gaga. Its so hard to describe the scent but its like vanilla, floral and a but fruity. Its not a simple scent at all which is why I like the uniqueness of it.

What were some of your beauty favorites during January?

CVS Beauty Haul

Hey everyone!

Long time no blog. I'm coming back at you with a haul plus a giveaway that will be posted on wednesday. So keep your eyes peeled for that. I was gonna do a mani monday but I was too lazy to paint my nails and I have kind of been letting them breath which I think is good for them.

Anyways, lets get on with the haul. CVS is having their semi annual beauty clearance now and I have slowly accumulated a crap ton of things. Plus, 90% of the products have been better than I expected.
I picked up some more lashes. I dont wear them too often but these have an easy application string so I figured I would try them. I also pick up some duo lash glue(reg price) because I hate the glue that comes with some lashes and I have heard good things about duo.
Again more regular price items. I picked up the Mabelline color tattoo metal shadows in inked in pink and barely branded. There were at least buy one get one half off which was nice. I really love barley branded but I havent yet tried inked in pink yet.
These are perhaps the biggest surprise of the whole haul. These are the Milani HD Advanced Lip Color. I picked these up because they were 75% off which made them a $1 and some change. These are amazing. I don't quite know how to describe the texture but they are ultra moisturizing. If these are being discontinued I will be sad.
Swatches: Classy Nude (favorite), Rich Caramel, Ignition and Modern Mauve. Don't these just look amazing!
More lip products! I picked up a milani lip flash (which are like the UD super saturated lip colors) a kate moss lippie, 3 milani lipsticks (these colors are staying they are just changing the packaging) and a revlon lip gloss.
Swatches: Milani Hot flash, Kate Moss 4 (I think), Milani rose hip, barely there and orange- gina, and Revlon Perfect Peony.
Lastly some Wet n Wild goodies. I got the sweet as candy trio (not on sale but WnW regular prices are super cheap), 2 eyeshadows in Nutty and Brulee, and a black eyeliner.

So as you can see I got lots of stuff. As I review these items I will link the review back to the items on this page. Also, I am posting my 100 follower giveaway on Wednesday and I bought a couple extras of these items to giveaway so look out for that.

Have a great day beauties!
